Depending on the year of the return you want to adjust, you might be able to make the correction, using your tax software, like TurboTax, and then remit using the ReFILE option. You can make changes to your current and previous 2 tax years through Re-FILE using the same software you used to file originally.
Why can’t I ReFILE my taxes?
Probably the most common reason that the IRS will reject a tax return is because of errors that are discovered during e-filing. You’ll be able to resubmit your corrected return, and we’ll tell you when it’s accepted by the IRS. When you mail a paper copy of your tax return, the IRS reject codes aren’t applicable.
